What is missing

Graphics the captured pages reference and the web archives did not capture.

The pages themselves survive. What is absent is images — navigation slices, backgrounds and gallery photographs — which the crawler never fetched. Affected pages render with those gaps visible rather than repaired, per the fidelity rule: the archive does not draw what it does not hold.

These are documented losses. A recovery sweep ran across the Wayback Machine (2009-2015, both hosts) and Common Crawl, and none of them survive there. Each of the 25 assets was searched individually — between 2 and 18 attempts apiece, 79 in total — and every search came back empty. A directory enumeration of /images/ returned 16 filenames, all of which this collection already holds. The verdict rests on that evidence, not on absence of effort: the per-asset search log is recorded in the sweep report.

Documented losses 25

Not losses 2

These resolve to localhost — the developer’s own machine, baked into the 2009 stylesheet. They were never public, so they are absent from the web archive because they were never on the web. Recorded as evidence of how the site was built, not as anything the archive lost.
