Dean Logan, Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk (RR/CC) is pleased to announce that the public now has the added convenience of paying by either credit or debit card for most RR/CC services, including Birth, Death and Marriage transactions.  “We are excited to enhance our customer service by making public requests more accessible and convenient,” said RR/CC Logan.

The RR/CC has contracted with Vital Chek Network (Vital Chek), a LexisNexis Company as service provider.   Vital Chek credit/debit services have not added any additional costs to the Department’s operations.  A service fee of $1.75 per transaction is assessed by Vital Check on credit/debit purchases.  More than $1,000,000 in revenue has been transacted via credit or debit card since the implementation of the service.  Customers benefit by using this service as they are no longer inconvenienced by having to go offsite to seek out an ATM, as formerly only cash or check was accepted.  All major credit cards are accepted, including American Express®, Discover®, and MasterCard®.

Credit/Debit payment services are available at the RR/CC Norwalk headquarters and all six branch offices throughout the county (visit http://www.lavote.net/GENERAL/Branch_Offices.cfm for locations).

Information on RR/CC services that presently use Vital Chek can be found through the RR/CC website at www.lavote.net or more specifically:
