I absolutely admit it; I really love Washington D.C.! There is something about this town with all its grandeur of monuments and impressive buildings that makes me just exuberant. It is the one town that no matter what the time of year, or weather, it is just stunning to look around at and enjoy.

This city is just a massive machine and you can just feel the energy in the hallways of the various government buildings. And those building are just expansive and seemingly never ending. It is mind boggling to see all these congressional offices, one after another, filled with elected officials and their staffers.

You just don’t get the enormous girth of our government until you visit some of these buildings. It is very easy to get lost in the bowls of some of these buildings if you’re not familiar with the office numbering. Even some of the people working in those office buildings weren’t sure where Congressman Dan Burton’s office was even with the office number in hand. We ultimately made to Burton’s office with time to spare!

I did have a great meeting with our Congressman Buck McKeon. He is nothing short of a wonderful human being and great public servant. He has done a tremendous amount for his entire district and we can see it in SCV with all that he has done on the education front locally with CalArts and COC.

Getting prepped for another round of meetings on Friday and then back home to the Santa Clarita Valley on Saturday. The weather here is relatively pleasant even with a little rain and certainly a nice change from the oven-like temperatures in SCV!!!
