Slide Mountain hike planned for Saturday

The Community Hiking Club will be traversing Slide Mountain on Saturday, October 30, 2010. This is a 13 miles round trip on a steep trail. An Adventure Pass is required for parking in the Angeles National Forest. Bring lots of water, lunch, snacks, and hiking poles will be helpful.

Those interested should plan on meeting at the outside gate of Towsley Canyon at 8:15 for an 8:30 departure. We will be carpooling to the trailhead above Castaic on I-5. If you would like to meet hikers in Castaic, take the I-5 North to Templin Hwy; Exit; Turn left under the freeway, and then make a right on the road that parallels the freeway (it’s the only road there). Follow this road to the end (Frenchman’s Flat). We will meet in the parking area by the gate. From more information contact Dianne at [email protected]
