A subsidiary publication of the Financial Times Business Group, the corporate investment journal compiled their “City of the Future” shortlists based on a handful of criteria, including economic potential, quality of life, and business friendliness. The study ranked cities that demonstrated the best prospects for inward investment, economic development and business expansion.

The ranking combines a North American ranking with Latin American ranking by compiling research on over 400 cities from fDi Benchmark and fDi Markets database tools.
The American Cities of the Future 2011/12 awards ceremony, hosted by fDi Intelligence, will be held in Washington D.C. on Wednesday, June 29, 2011. Certificates will be presented by Courtney Fingar, Editor of fDi Magazine.
