Demonstrating an abundance of caution, the Chairman of the 38th Assembly District Republican Central Committee (ADRCC) and the acting Treasurer recently conducted separate audits of the 38th ADRCC’s bank accounts. These audits were in response to a number of unsubstantiated allegations made against the former Santa Clarita Valley Republican Assembly (SCVRA) Treasurer concerning SCVRA accounts. The issue was raised in an elaborate power point presentation at the most recent CRA membership meeting. As the former SCVRA Treasurer also serves as Treasurer for the 38th ADRCC, the Committee felt it prudent to appoint a temporary Treasurer and conduct a review of its own books and records, even though no allegations have been raised concerning the 38th ADRCC’s accounts.
After a thorough investigation by the two separate party officials, the reviews confirmed that there have been no issues with the various accounts. As an added precaution the Committee members have asked for an independent audit to be conducted as well.
Additionally, given the seriousness of the charges a review was also made of the SCVRA’s accounts by the Chair of the ADRCC, a former two term President of the SCVRA and a current member of the State CRA Board of Directors. A summary of the Chairman’s investigation was also presented at the 38th ADRCC meeting, which clearly established that the allegations made by the current SCVRA board concerning the SCVRA’s former Treasurer were misleading and false.
Copies of the June 7th Committee meeting minutes and a summary report of the audits can be requested by contacting the SCV Republican Headquarters by calling 661-310-0920.
