Ender has shown on a habitual basis that she does not care about right or wrong; about listening carefully and asking intelligent questions nor rooting out factual information to make an informed decision. As it turns out, she is only interested in either doing what she is told to do, more often than not by her master Frank Ferry, or by those special interest groups that buy her vote with a hefty campaign donations.
As I wrote last week; “one of the more egregious displays on her part which basically says it all is that she has not listened to the City electorate and instead has actually laughed at residents in the Council chambers.”
Imagine going to your City of Santa Clarita representative with genuine concerns, comments and questions and being laughed at from the City Council dais. Ms. Ender’s disrespectful display and other crass actions have shown that she has a clear distain and contempt for anyone with a different opinion or alternative suggestion.
The most recent breach of her insensitivity and disrespect were the disparaging comments she made that the Jakes Way area of Canyon Country should be cut out and moved to Palmdale. It was a thoughtless comment coming from a political neophyte and, even though she half-heartedly apologized, it still showcased her lack of respect for all residents of the City.
Ender has been a party to the Ferry mob in which they make backroom deals and then enter chambers having already decided the outcome of particular issue or matter before the City Council. They’re not interested in community input or questioning the validity or wisdom of whatever they decide to ram through the approval process as evidenced by their behavior on a monthly basis.
The embarrassing process that played out during the Library takeover fiasco was a disgusting display of backroom deals that were made by others with Ender as the patsy to cram it down the gullets of the residents. Her scripted announcement to take the County libraries into the City was met with fierce opposition that she and others completely ignored.
Others in the valley may want to overlook the self-importance and condescension that Laurie Ender has displayed during her first term, but I’ve seen enough. The residents of the City of Santa Clarita deserve much better!
Laurie Ender has shown nothing more than an unacceptable level of arrogance which has become a trademark of the majority of the City leadership. It is a display of political immaturity in which they are incapable of changing their minds or re-evaluating a decision for fear that it will make them look weak; yet that is exactly what is needed to make them look responsive and strong.
Those are not the attributes of a good public servant who was elected to represent the citizens of the City of Santa Clarita. And with those traits being exposed over the last several years it is time for the City electorate to re-assess Ender and to vote her out.
Now is a perfect opportunity to move on to someone else that will actually uphold the fiduciary responsibility of representing all of the citizenry of the City of Santa Clarita and working to reach out to all in the Santa Clarita Valley. The Beacon is wholeheartedly endorsing and supporting Bob Kellar and TimBen Boydston as the two candidates that will uphold those goals and we hope you will too!!
If you live in the City of Santa Clarita, I would urge you to get out and vote on April 10, 2012. Every vote counts and it is time to take back local politics and make it for the people, by the people and of the people.
