The final tally was: Wilk (266); Democrat Edward Headington (57); Hart School Board Member Paul Strickland (21) and Patricia McKeon, wife of Congressman Buck McKeon (5).
“My message of holding the line on taxes and reforming regulations, re-prioritizing government spending and improving our public education system is resonanting with voters,” Wilk said.
Wilk is running to succeed Assemblyman Cameron Smyth who is retiring due to term limits. Smyth has endorsed Wilk as has Congressman Tom McClintock, Board of Equalization member George Runner, Senator Sharon Runner, and former Assemblywoman Paula Boland.
Wilk is a longtime resident of the Santa Clarita Valley. He is a small business owner and Santa Clarita Community College Trustee. The Signal Newspaper has honored Scott multiple times as one of the 51 most influential people in Santa Clarita. Scott also serves on the Board of Directors of the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital Foundation and is a member of the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce.
