On Thursday, October 11th, two incumbents and one challenger for the Hart Governing Board have agreed to a public debate at Santa Clarita City Hall, Council Chambers at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to meet Gloria Mercado-Fortine, Steve Sturgeon and challenger Joe Messina before the debate and to ask questions at this public debate.
Thousand of sample ballots that include the two Hart Board seats have already been mailed throughout the Santa Clarita Valley, but the election, which takes place on November 6, is expected to have a small turnout.
Local newsman, Leon Wordon, has been selected to moderate the school board debate. A select group of local reporters will also ask questions.
The public debate is being sponsored by the Democratic Alliance for Action of Santa Clarita, the SCV Congress of Republicans, the Democratic Club of the SCV, and the SCV Republican Assembly.
