No, it’s not the Presidential Elections but it is equally important that you vote today. There are a number of school board seats that are up for election as well as the water board in some areas.
In recent years there has been much apathy in regards to voter turnout locally. Just look at the anemic turn out for the last City Council elections or the pathetic voter turnout for the last West Ranch Town Council election.
Many voters think that if it ain’t broke there is no need to make the effort to go to the polls and cast a ballot. To those folks I can only say that if you don’t make an effort to vote than you really don’t have the right to criticize the elected officials when you don’t agree with what they are doing. That’s right, if you don’t vote, then don’t bellyache!
I hope that you will make the effort to go to your local polling station and vote for Joe Messina for the William S. Hart School District Board and for Suzan Solomon and Mike Shapiro for the Newhall School District Board.
You can read more about Joe Messina in a piece penned by Tim Myers titled “I’m Begging you to Vote for Joe Messina!” Tim points out some of the problems currently engulfing the Hart School Board and why we need to see Joe Messina elected to that Board.
There is also a piece written by yours truly posted below titled “The Best of Times, the Worst of Times; Your Vote Today will Make a Difference” in which I point out some of the great attributes of Suzan Solomon and Mike Shapiro and why they need to be re-elected to the Newhall School Board. There is also further validation as to why the William S. Hart School Board desperately needs some fresh blood.
The important thing is that you get out and vote!
