The crossing improvements will include the replacement of existing railroad track, ties, subgrade and ballast, as well as the installation of new concrete crossing panels on the adjacent roadway.
“The Oak Ridge Drive railroad crossing improvements are necessary to rehabilitate the existing track and make it safer for Metrolink travel,” said a City official. “The construction work will provide for a smoother, more stable ride and extend the life of the railroad crossing and adjacent roadway for years to come.”
Signs will be posted near the Oak Ridge Drive crossing within the next few weeks to give advanced notification of the road closure to commuters and pedestrians. Construction will be completed by Herzog Contracting, a contractor for the Metrolink Railroad.
