Los Angeles County is planning on adding a library to the Stevenson Ranch community and is currently looking at three sites in the community. A county representative made the announcement on Wednesday night at the West Ranch Town Council meeting.

The County has ruled out leasing space along The Old Road but instead is planning to build a new facility. The library currently being planned is approximately 15,000 square feet which is considered to be at the smaller end of the size range for county libraries.

There are three potential locations that were presented at the meeting; one site being a portion of Dr. Richard Rioux Memorial Park and two other sites along Pico Canyon Road. Community members were asked for their opinions and most thought the Rioux Park site was not a good site for a library facility.

County officials will be giving further updates at future West Ranch Town Council meetings.
