About Mayor Dude

• • • •

Mayor Dude is a new website of the City of Santa Clarita, aimed at trying a fresh approach for involving local youth in their City and in their community. By utilizing a targeted outreach tool, and the direct efforts of Mayor Frank Ferry, the City is working to help bring local youth into the decision-making process, especially regarding issues of interest to local young people.

Mayor Dude offers visitors an opportunity to “chat” with the Mayor, ask questions, answer challenges and offer suggestions. The City will screen all of the comments and questions to assure that they are appropriate for the website and for youthful viewing. (see rules). Some of the activities being planned for the website during 2009 include "the Mayor Dude challenge," "Chat with Mayor Dude" and "Stay Connected with Mayor Dude."

As much as possible, we will post your comments to the site so that visitors can benefit from your thoughts and great ideas. We are also looking for photos of you involved in activities in the community that we can post to the site. Local youth involved in sports, volunteerism, music, etc. are interesting! You can email these (and your comments/questions/ideas) directly to [email protected].

Thanks!
