The Nelson Motorcycle Training Center offers a fast and easy safety and training certification program that will help you acquire all the tools you need to Ride Smart and Ride Safely! Be Aware - 5 Ways to be a Safer Motorcyclist

1. Lifelong Learning – Enroll in a motorcycle safety-training course to stay up to date on safe riding practices.
2. Gear Up – Wear protective gear including a DOT approved helmet, full body clothing and padding.
3. Sober Approach – Do NOT drink and drive.
4. Know your limits – Ride within your skill limits
5. Be Safe and Be Seen – Take extended safety precautions, ride defensively and watch for vehicles as drivers may not see you.

1. California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)
   The California Department of Motor Vehicles has several publications regarding motorcycle laws, safety, and awareness including an all-encompassing California Motorcycle Handbook.
2. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHSTA)
   The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website encompasses national safety regulations as well as additional information regarding safe riding, awareness and national motorcycle laws.
3. Nelson Motorcycle Training Center
