Camarillo, CA. Karen Bass, the California Assembly Speaker is principal speaker at a “Get Out the Vote for Ferial Masry” rally on Saturday at 7PM November 1st in Camarillo. According to Bob Handy, Director of the Democratic Parry’s Region 10, it is the first time that he is aware of that an Assembly Speaker is coming to support the party’s candidate for the 37th Assembly District. The event will be held at the Camarillo Democratic Campaign Headquarters, 1727 East Daily Drive, Suite # D, near Denny’s Restaurant and behind Pesto Pasta.

As of a week ago, the 37th Assembly District race, for years considered to be a safe Republican seat, was determined to be in an unprecedented dead heat!! The California Democratic Party leadership is fully supporting Ferial Masry’s campaign to finally turn the 37th from Republican Red to Democratic Blue.

Alberto Torrico, the Assembly Majority Leader appeared at a fundraiser for Ferial in Santa Paula on October 22nd. He expressed his confidence in Ferial and urged everyone to work hard to get out the vote in November 4th. Another prominent supporter of Ferial is retired four-star Marine Corps General Joseph P. Hoar, who endorsed Ferial at a fundraiser in Camarillo on September 13th. General Hoar once served as Commandein Chief, US Central Command, the post taken over by General David Petraeus.

Ferial’s campaign was already recognized in August by the authoritative nonpartisan “California Target Book” as one of the seven critical Assembly races in which Democratic candidates had a chance to win. One contributing factor for the tight race is that Ferial and our volunteers have visited over 10,000 homes and will continue this impressive effort up until Election Day. Another reason is an impressive drive earlier this year by the county’s Democratic clubs to register new voters, which resulted in Ventura County having more registered Democrats than Republicans.

However, during the primary election in June, Republican voters outnumbered Democrats. Green Party members have also RSVP’d for this event in protest of Audra’s poor track record.

“We finally stand a strong chance of winning this race” said Ferial, “I want to thank all of the wonderful people who have worked so hard to bring us this far. Now I ask everyone to join us in the final push to win this election and end ten years of Strickland rule. Please join me on Saturday in enthusiastic welcome for Karen Bass!”

The event is free, but campaign contributions are welcome. Visit the website: www.ferialmasryforassembly.com Contact Jillian Eifer (805) 504-2299 or Vitali Mostovoj at (805) 492-4122 or email: [email protected]
