If you have been reading this the Beacon for sometime you’ve no doubt noticed that there are occasionally some misspelled words. Simply put, I am an awful speller; always have been, always will be! As much as I try invariably a misspelled word slips through occasionally.
Sadly though, that is something that some pseudo-intellectuals just love to jump on and pound. They have nothing else to grab onto so they will attack the fact that you misspell a word or occasionally screw up on grammar.
I view people who want to harp on something like a misspelled word as small minded. They are missing the point of the article or can’t find a way to discredit you except for a misspelled word; it’s a kink in the armor to attack.
These are the folks that don’t have much in the way of intellectual depth. They have to go after you on something as simple as a misspelled word or show off their academic prowess referring to the dictionary.
Better yet, if they read what you wrote they’ll respond to it by bringing up something that isn’t even in the article. Their not interested in acknowledging that they agree or disagree with you, they’ll dredge up something that you wrote in another piece and keep twisting on it. That is the sign of someone that can’t move on. They can’t just agree to disagree.
Sure I use spell check all the time, but even then a word or two slips through. String me up at the nearest tree!
But guess what? I have always acknowledged that I’m a terrible speller. So what! If you continue to read this blog please be rest assured that, from time to time, there will be an occasional misspelled word. If you would to point it out politely that’s fine; but if you want to mock it that will only expose you as a complete imbecile.
