The trademark rumble of bikers on a mission to do good deeds will echo through the Santa Clarita Valley on May 1 as the Bikers for Christ stage their Third Annual LARC Ranch Benefit ride to raise funds for LARC’s programs and services for developmentally disabled individuals.
“This is a terrific opportunity for all bikers to not only participate in a fun ride, but also to visit and learn more about LARC Ranch and the valuable services we provide for the developmentally disabled and their families,” said Kathleen Sturkey, executive director of LARC Ranch.
Biker registration opens at 9 a.m. and the ride begins 10 a.m. at Cycle Gear, 24508 Lyons Avenue in Newhall. Riders will be provided free coffee and pastries before they take to the road. The ride ends at LARC Ranch, 29890 Bouquet Canyon Road, in Saugus, where lunch will be catered by Weiler’s Restaurant and Catering of Northridge.
The cost is $25 per rider and $15 per passenger, and included are a poker hand, ride pins for the first 100 riders, raffle tickets and lunch. The high poker hand wins $100 and the low hand wins $50. Bikers will be entertained by vendors, live music and raffles — including a chance to win a set of motorcycle tires donated by Cycle Gear (255-6522).
“We’re so grateful to Bikers for Christ for their efforts to promote LARC’s mission of helping developmentally disabled people thrive,” Sturkey said, “and we’d love to see a great crowd of bikers rumbling onto the ranch on May 1st.”
