IN THE SENATE
- The Senate convenes at 9:00am. Following the prayer and pledge and any Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of S.510, FDA Food Safety Modernization Act, and immediately proceed to a series of up to 3 roll call votes.
- Upon disposition of S.510, the Senate will turn to a period of morning business with senators permitted to speak for up to 10 minutes each.
- The Senate will recess from 12:30 until 4:00pm to allow for the party caucus meetings.
- When the Senate convenes at 4pm, Senator Dodd will be recognized to give his farewell speech.
- Senators cannot agree on fix to the health law - The Senate on Monday failed to repeal an unpopular element of the health care overhaul even though Democrats and Republicans agreed it needed to be jettisoned to prevent businesses from being saddled with undue tax paperwork. (New York Times)

- Office of Elementary and Secondary Education Overview Information; High School Equivalency Program- The purpose of HEP is to help migrant and seasonal farm workers and members of their immediate family obtain a general education diploma (GED) that meets the guidelines for high school equivalency established by the State in which the HEP project is conducted, and to help them gain employment or be placed in an institution of higher education (IHE) or other postsecondary education or training.
