(From a local report) A Canyon High School teacher was arrested Saturday in Ventura County for allegedly transporting and possessing drugs, Ventura County Sheriff’s Department officials said. The Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail launched an investigation over the weekend into illegal drug transactions via the Internet, according to a statement from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.

An investigator posing as a female seeking male companionship accessed Craigslist and began interacting with Canyon High School math teacher Ashraf Boulos Hindi, 29, according to the department.

As a way to further entice the adult “female,” Hindi allegedly offered to transport cocaine, marijuana and alcohol to a designated location in Camarillo.

Hindi eventually arrived at a Motel 6 in Camarillo and was detained by sheriff’s officials. He was found to be in possession of a small quantity of marijuana, according to the department. Deputies later found cocaine at Hindi’s home in Canyon Country.

Hindi was arrested for transporting/offering a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and transporting/furnishing marijuana. His bail was set at $50,000.
