(From the AP) Los Angeles County officials have voted to build 831 miles of new bikeways over the next two decades. The $331 million upgrade to the city’s existing 144-mile network was formally approved Tuesday at the Board of Supervisors meeting. Supervisor Gloria Molina says the city’s bikeway plan had not changed since 1975, despite major transportation challenges in the decades since. The new plan is based on feedback from bicyclists at 32 public workshops held around the county.
