According to sources close to Tony Strickland (pictured), he will be making an endorsement of Patricia McKeon for the 38th State Assembly. One of the reasons being cited for the endorsement is that Patricia McKeon has been showing very poorly in independent polling (evidenced by the comments below) with many voters pointing to her lack of experience. Strickland’s endorsement might help give at least some appearance of credibility.

Tony Strickland is running for Congress in the 26th District and has been told that he’ll have his D.C. support cut off if he doesn’t support Patricia McKeon. That apparent arm twisting from her husband Congressman Buck McKeon to get Strickland’s endorsement fits with other activities coming from the Congressman’s office. It has been widely reported that Rep. McKeon has pressured Defense Contractors to contribute to his wife’s run for the State Assembly seat.

Strickland had originally endorsed Scott Wilk for the 38th Assembly District but had walked that endorsement back due to mounting pressure coming from the McKeon camp.
