Exclusive: Tim Meyers Joins the Beacon with Weekly Column

By admin

Original Site Tim Myers

Well known local writer and Santa Clarita Valley resident Tim Meyers will begin an exclusive weekly column on the West Ranch Beacon this week. Mr. Meyer’s column will appear every Wednesday starting this Wednesday, October 17^th. Tim will also have a piece on SCVtalk.com this week which he submitted before cementing his position with the Beacon.

Tim has been writing about local issues and musings for more than a decade in The Signal and his first column will discuss why he is no longer affiliated with that print publication. He goes into great detail about the events that led to his departure from The Signal and how the is “accelerating the print media death spiral”.

It will be business as usual with weekly musings from Tim Meyers every Wednesday right here on the West ranch Beacon where you find: Local News and Commentary; Up to Date, Sometimes Controversial; Always Thought Provoking.

Chris Sharp Says: October 15th, 2007 at 8:11 am This is indeed welcome news. From my own experience, I have found I have a lot more leeway here in writing about local concerns than when I was writing exclusively for The Signal. The readers here also seem to understand typos better than newspaper readers, so you don’t have to stay up all night worrying about them. Welcome aboard, Tim. My next column here has some pretty nice things to say about your Christ Lutheran Church in Valencia and Karroll Blackson’s great work there, so look for all that. All the best and good luck, Chris

Cyndee Beher Says: October 16th, 2007 at 5:53 pm Glad to know that pesky “facts”… (typos) and such aren’t such a “big deal” here. Guess that’s why the WRB is such a joke thorughout the rest of the SCV! You folks keep patting each other on the back… The big boys have REAL journalism to do!

admin Says: October 17th, 2007 at 4:39 am Cyndee, Sounds like you are just bitter because the local “paper” isn’t doing the service it should for the community. That’s why so many are getting their local information at the WRB and other sites on-line. The local print media is in its death throws. The only thing that is a joke is your comment since you read the WRB!! Thank you, The Beacon
