The high school varsity girl’s golf teams from across the Santa Clarita Valley will vie for bragging rights and the Newhall Land Cup trophies. The golf tournament consists of two days of 36 holes of medal/stroke play at the private Tournament Players Club of Valencia, featuring competitive girl’s varsity teams from the Hart, Saugus, Canyon, Valencia, Golden Valley and West Ranch High Schools.
Each team features six players. The four lowest individual scores from each team will be used to calculate the team’s overall score. A second trophy will be awarded for best individual score. In addition, each participating school receives a $1,000 grant from Newhall Land to use toward their team. The tournament will be held on Wednesday, October 17th & Thursday, October 18th at 12:00 p.m. with a shot gun start each day.
The TPC at Valencia opened in 2003 and recently completed an expansion project to accommodate its growing membership with new men’s and women’s locker rooms and a more spacious restaurant and patio. TPC at Valencia is located at 25051 Heritage View Lane in Westridge.
Newhall Land, the community planners of Valencia, with homes currently selling in two new villages of West Creek/West Hills and RiverVillage, and the future hometown of Newhall Ranch, is title sponsor of the event.
