In the spirit of community and sharing during the Thanksgiving holiday season, the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation will once again open its doors and serve free Thanksgiving meals to local community members.  Twelve sites throughout various parks in unincorporated areas including South Los Angeles, Rowland Heights, Hacienda Heights and Whittier will serve Thanksgiving dinner to those who need it and combat hunger and loneliness during the holidays. The first site will open its doors to the community today for a 2:00 p.m. meal at Adventure Park, 10130 S. Gunn Avenue and at 5:30 p.m. at Sorensen Park, 11419 Rosehedge Drive, both in Whittier
