Tonight, Wednesday November 18, 2009, the William S. Hart Union High School District is holding a special Governing Board meeting to select a site for the proposed Castaic High School. The meeting begins at the convenient time of 5:00 PM at the Hart District Administrative Center located at 21515 Centre Pointe Parkway in Santa Clarita.

At this point it is up to the community to turn out in droves to tell this board that they need wait and let the newly elected board members weigh in on the site selection decision.

This current school board is trying to ram through a selection now because the newly elected board members have their own opinions that are more in-line with the community. The new board members will be looking at the safety issues surrounding the various sites and not whether or not the SCV Facilities Foundation owns it!!

Don’t be surprised if the outcome of this meeting is the selection of the Hasley/Sloan site because that is the site owned by the facilities foundation. It that turns out to be the case than Castaic will not see a new high school for 7-10 more years and the West Ranch and Valencia High Schools will continue to be unmercifully crowd.

Show up to this very important meeting and have you voice heard. Just showing up will prove there is strength in numbers.
