Mayor Dude
Official City of Santa Clarita youth-outreach site, 2009.
- What this is A facsimile served as captured — original markup, stylesheets and images at their original fixed width, not reformatted and carrying no site chrome. The pages are 2009 but every surviving asset was captured in 2011–2012, after the site had been replaced, so the 2009 appearance is inferred from those assets and cannot be confirmed.
- Redaction The homepage named five children as contest winners; those names are withheld in 14 locations and render as [name withheld by the archive]. Any of the five, now adults, may ask for their own name to be restored.
- Missing graphics Some images were never captured by the archives this collection was recovered from, and those pages render with the gaps visible rather than repaired. 25 affected graphics → · what is held →

Editor’s note — commentary, not record
The campaign drew contemporaneous criticism, and the record of it survives in this library: SCV Talk covered Mayor Dude from its early months (“From the Mouth of Babes to Mayor Dude,” April 2009) through mounting criticism (“Time to Put the Mayor Dude Campaign to Sleep,” November 2009) to the District Attorney’s office looking into allegations that the campaign misused public funds (“DA to Look into Mayor Dude Allegations,” March 2010). The editor worked for the city during this period and has written a personal account of the campaign’s backstory.
