In an effort to maintain clean neighborhoods, the City of Santa Clarita would like to encourage residents to remove outdated yard sale signs. “Excessive signs can cause unwanted blight in our community.  To help maintain a high aesthetic value in our neighborhoods, the City is asking community members to help remove outdated garage and yard sale signs,” commented a City official.

According to the City’s municipal code, residents are permitted to have no more than three garage or yard sales in any calendar year and each garage or yard sale cannot exceed three consecutive days.  Signage promoting the sales is prohibited along any highway or other public right-of-way within the City.

Having a clean looking neighbor extends beyond the City of Santa Clarita and all SCV residents should have the common decency and respect to remove all yard, garage, and estate sale signs that they put up. It is up to all citizens to act responsible to keep our communities free of visual blight.
